When creating or editing pages, you'll probably want the visual editor (unless you really want to edit in markdown or something like that). The visual editor works pretty much just like google docs, so it should be pretty self explanatory.
See this page on page paths and how to create pages and specific locations. If you want to make a link to another page on the wiki, simply put the page's path as the link target. For example, to link to this page you set the link target to /wiki-editing.
When creating folders, make sure you have a page that exists at the folder location. For example, if we have a folder called /folder1and some documents inside /folder1 like /folder1/page1, /folder1/page2, make sure there is also a page at /folder1, otherwise if someone tries to point there browser at wiki.liquidrocket.org/folder1, they dont see a missing page screen. This page doesnt necessarily need to have a lot of information on it, but a good idea would be to make it a table of contents for what is in /folder1.
For uploading media, click the image button when editing a page. It will pull up the media explorer. Please try to keep assets organized, and don't just dump everything into the root folder. If you can, try to match the asset path with the path of the page it belongs to. If an asset is used on multiple pages, its path should be the most specific folder that contains all pages the asset applies to.
For example, if this is the folder structure:
root:
If you have an asset that is only for page 6, the asset should be placed at folder2/folder3/asset. If an asset belongs to page 6 and page 5, then it should be placed at folder2/asset. If an asset belongs to page 6 and page 3, it should go in the root folder.
If you have questions on editing, creating pages, or uploading media, talk to Jacob Baumel.
If you are adding a new user, make sure to add them to the “Basic” group! Otherwise they will not be able to view any of the pages on the wiki, and will see an “Access Denied” screen when logging in. If you are adding a sublead, add them to the “subleads” group. This will give them permission to modify and add pages. If you forget this step! You as a lead don't have the permissions to change the groups on other members after they are created, so if you forget to add someone to the correct group, you'll have to reach out to a wiki admin (Jacob Baumel or Eli Bennett) to make the change.
